Current Competition Format: Free entry with a fixed $1,000 Digital Discovery Prize. No purchase or payment is required to enter, participate, receive official competition clues, submit solutions, or win. All eligible participants compete for the same prize under the same rules.
1. Platform Overview
1.1 Welcome to Treasure Kracken
Treasure Kracken is a digital puzzle-solving platform that hosts competitions of skill involving research, critical thinking, pattern recognition, logical reasoning, and puzzle solving.
Participants compete by progressing through a series of digital challenges and attempting to become the first eligible participant to correctly complete the final challenge.
1.2 Digital Competition Format
Treasure Kracken competitions may include:

• Sequential digital puzzle challenges

• Riddles and research-based challenges

• Pattern-recognition and analytical challenges

• Passwords, codes, ciphers, or other digital solutions

• A final challenge used to determine the winner

Unless expressly stated otherwise in the rules for a particular competition, the winner is determined by the first verified correct submission of the final solution.
1.3 Competition Phases
A Treasure Kracken competition may include:

• Countdown Phase: Competition announcement, rules, start time, and prize information

• Active Phase: Competition opens and participants begin solving challenges

• Final Stage: Participants attempt to solve and submit the final solution

• Verification Phase: Submission records and winner eligibility are reviewed

• Prize Distribution: The verified winner receives the advertised prize

2. Eligibility and Participation
2.1 Age Requirement
Participants must be at least 18 years old to participate in a Treasure Kracken competition or claim a prize.
Individuals under 18 are not eligible to participate in the competition or claim a prize.
Treasure Kracken may require proof of age during registration, winner verification, or both.
2.2 Account Registration
Participants must:

• Provide accurate registration information

• Maintain only one competition account per person

• Keep account credentials secure

• Use their own account when submitting competition answers

• Provide accurate identity information during winner verification

Creating, controlling, or using multiple accounts to obtain an unfair competitive advantage is prohibited.
2.3 Ineligible Participants
The following persons are not eligible to participate or win:

• Treasure Kracken employees

• Individuals directly involved in designing, testing, administering, or operating the competition

• Contractors with access to non-public competition answers or materials

• Immediate family members of individuals with advance access to competition solutions

• Members of the same household as individuals with advance access to competition solutions

For purposes of this section, immediate family includes spouses or domestic partners, parents, children, and siblings.
2.4 Geographic Eligibility
Participation is void where prohibited or restricted by applicable law.
Treasure Kracken may establish additional geographic eligibility requirements for a particular competition when necessary to comply with applicable laws.
Any competition-specific geographic restriction will be disclosed before or at the beginning of that competition.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that their participation is lawful in the jurisdiction where they reside and participate.
3. Competition of Skill
3.1 Skill-Based Winner Determination
Treasure Kracken competitions are designed to determine winners through skill.
Winner determination is based on factors such as:

• Correctly solving puzzles and challenges

• Research ability

• Logical reasoning

• Pattern recognition

• Analytical problem solving

• Speed in reaching and correctly completing the final challenge

The winner is not selected through a random drawing.
3.2 Equal Competition Information
All official competition clues necessary to solve the active competition will be made available to all participants.
No participant may purchase:​

• Preferential access to competition stages

• Improved scoring or ranking

• Preferential treatment of a submission

• Increased prize eligibility

General discussions, announcements, community conversations, or non-competition content do not modify the Official Rules unless Treasure Kracken expressly identifies the communication as an official competition clarification.
3.3 Official Timekeeping
Treasure Kracken's server records and submission records are the official source for determining submission time and order.
The apparent winner is the eligible participant whose complete and correct final solution is first recorded by Treasure Kracken's competition system.
If a technical issue makes the order of two or more correct submissions impossible to determine reliably, Treasure Kracken may conduct an additional skill-based tiebreaker between the affected participants.
No random drawing will be used to resolve a tie in winner determination.
4. Entry and No-Purchase Requirement
4.1 Free Entry
ENTRY FEE: FREE
No payment is required to:

• Register for the competition

• Participate in the competition

• Access official competition clues

• Advance through competition stages

• Submit a final solution

• Become eligible to win

• Claim the advertised prize

4.2 No Purchase Necessary
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
Purchasing any product or service from Treasure Kracken does not improve a participant's position in the competition and does not provide an advantage in determining the winner.
The competition prize is not funded by participant entry fees.
4.3 Equal Prize Eligibility
Every eligible participant who follows these Official Rules competes for the same advertised prize.
Prize eligibility is determined by compliance with these rules and successful completion of the competition, not by whether a participant has made any purchase.
5. Prize Structure
5.1 Digital Discovery Prize
DIGITAL DISCOVERY PRIZE: $1,000.00 USD
The winner of the current Treasure Kracken competition will receive a $1,000 cash prize.
The prize amount:

• Is fixed before the competition begins

• Is funded by Treasure Kracken

• Does not depend on the number of participants

• Does not increase or decrease based on purchases

• Does not depend on participant payments

5.2 Prize Display
The advertised prize for the current competition is:

5.3 Winner Determination
Subject to eligibility verification, the winner is the participant who first submits the complete and correct solution to the final competition challenge.
Treasure Kracken may review:

• Server timestamps

• Submission records

• Competition progress records

• Account information

• Security logs

• Other relevant records reasonably necessary to verify the result

The first correct submission does not become final until eligibility and compliance with these rules are verified.
6. Competition Rules
6.1 Fair Participation
Participants must follow the instructions provided for each competition stage and comply with these Official Rules.
Ordinary research and problem-solving methods may be used unless a particular challenge expressly provides otherwise.
Participants may discuss theories and ideas with others unless a competition-specific instruction prohibits doing so.
6.2 Prohibited Conduct
Treasure Kracken may disqualify a participant for conduct that materially interferes with competition fairness or security, including:

• Hacking or attempting to access non-public Treasure Kracken systems, files, databases, passwords, answers, or administrative areas

• Exploiting a software vulnerability or unintended platform behavior to bypass a competition stage

• Attempting to obtain unreleased answers or competition materials

• Creating or using multiple accounts to obtain a competitive advantage

• Manipulating timestamps or submission records

• Interfering with another participant's access to the competition

• Attempting to disable, overload, damage, or disrupt the platform

• Using automated tools to brute-force passwords, answers, or submission forms

• Impersonating another participant

• Providing false eligibility or identity information

• Coordinating fraudulent submissions

• Knowingly obtaining a final answer through unauthorized access to non-public competition information

6.3 Disqualification
Treasure Kracken may investigate suspected rule violations before confirming a winner.
Disqualification decisions must be based on a reasonable determination that a participant violated these rules or materially compromised competition integrity.
Treasure Kracken may use relevant platform records, security records, submission records, and account information when conducting an investigation.
Where reasonably practical, a participant may be given an opportunity to explain disputed activity before a final disqualification decision is made.
6.4 Intellectual Competition Integrity
Participants may not circumvent competition access controls or obtain answers through unauthorized access to Treasure Kracken systems.
Nothing in these rules prohibits legitimate research, analysis, puzzle solving, or use of publicly available information unless a specific challenge expressly provides otherwise.
7. Winner Verification and Prize Payment
7.1 Apparent Winner
The first participant recorded as submitting the correct final solution is considered the apparent winner until verification is complete.
The apparent winner is not officially confirmed until Treasure Kracken verifies eligibility and compliance with these rules.
7.2 Verification Requirements
To claim the prize, the apparent winner may be required to:

• Provide a valid government-issued photo identification

• Verify that the winner is at least 18 years old

• Confirm identity and account ownership

• Confirm compliance with geographic eligibility requirements

• Complete tax documentation required by applicable law

• Provide information reasonably necessary to deliver the prize

Treasure Kracken will not require payment from a winner in order to receive the prize.
7.3 Prize Payment
Following successful winner verification:

• The verified winner will receive $1,000.00 USD

• Treasure Kracken will make reasonable efforts to issue payment within 7 business days after verification is completed

• Payment may be made by bank transfer, PayPal, check, or another mutually agreed secure payment method

• The winner is responsible for taxes applicable to the prize

• Treasure Kracken may report the prize to taxing authorities when required by law

7.4 Claim Deadline
An apparent winner will have 30 days after receiving winner-verification notice to provide reasonably requested verification information.
Treasure Kracken may extend that deadline when circumstances reasonably justify additional time.
If an apparent winner:

• Is determined to be ineligible

• Is disqualified for violating these rules

• Refuses the prize

• Cannot reasonably be contacted

• Fails to complete required verification within the applicable deadline

Treasure Kracken may review the next eligible correct submission in verified submission order.
7.5 No Payment to Claim
Treasure Kracken will never require a winner to pay an entry fee, processing fee, release fee, tax advance, or other charge to Treasure Kracken as a condition of receiving the advertised prize.
8. Legal Terms and Dispute Resolution
8.1 Nature of the Competition
Treasure Kracken is structured as a skill-based competition.
The winner is determined through successful puzzle solving and the verified order of correct final submissions rather than through a random drawing.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to authorize participation where the competition is prohibited by applicable law.
8.2 Governing Law
Except where applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms and the competition will be governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of the arbitration agreement below to the extent applicable.
Mandatory rights provided by applicable law are not waived merely because these Terms specify Utah law.
8.3 Informal Dispute Resolution
Before filing arbitration or another permitted legal proceeding, the participant and Treasure Kracken agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally.
A participant may begin the informal dispute process by sending a written description of the dispute and requested resolution to:

The parties will have at least 30 days from receipt of the dispute notice to attempt informal resolution before arbitration is initiated, unless immediate action is necessary to preserve a legal claim or obtain emergency relief.
8.4 Binding Individual Arbitration
Except for disputes eligible to be brought in small claims court and matters for which applicable law prohibits mandatory arbitration, disputes arising from these Terms or participation in a Treasure Kracken competition will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its applicable Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect.
Arbitration may be conducted remotely, through written submissions, by telephone or video conference, or at another location permitted under the applicable AAA rules.
Arbitration fees and costs will be allocated in accordance with the applicable AAA rules and governing law.
Judgment on an arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
8.5 Small Claims Court
Either party may bring an individual claim in a court of competent jurisdiction that qualifies as a small claims proceeding instead of arbitration when the claim satisfies that court's requirements.
8.6 Class Action Waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, disputes must be brought on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in a purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative action.
This provision does not eliminate any right that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.
8.7 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Treasure Kracken is not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including:

• Internet service interruptions

• Participant device failures

• Local power outages

• Third-party service outages

• Browser incompatibility

• Network latency outside Treasure Kracken's systems

• Unauthorized third-party cyberattacks despite reasonable protective measures

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Treasure Kracken is responsible for administering the competition in accordance with these Official Rules and will use reasonable efforts to investigate material technical failures affecting competition integrity.
8.8 No Guarantee of Continuous Availability
The platform is provided subject to reasonable maintenance, technical requirements, and circumstances outside Treasure Kracken's control.
Treasure Kracken does not guarantee that the website will operate without interruption or error at every moment.
This provision does not permit Treasure Kracken to disregard a material technical failure that directly affects winner determination.
8.9 Intellectual Property
Treasure Kracken competition content, including original puzzles, graphics, text, videos, audio, code, designs, branding, and related materials, is owned by or licensed to Treasure Kracken unless otherwise stated.
Participants receive a limited, non-exclusive right to access competition materials for personal participation in the competition.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Treasure Kracken intellectual property to a participant.
Third-party trademarks, copyrighted works, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.
8.10 Participant Content
If a participant voluntarily submits comments, theories, messages, images, or other content to an interactive Treasure Kracken feature, the participant retains ownership of their original content.
The participant grants Treasure Kracken a non-exclusive license to host, display, reproduce, and process that content as reasonably necessary to:

• Operate the applicable platform feature

• Moderate community areas

• Provide the requested service

• Maintain platform security

• Comply with legal obligations

Treasure Kracken does not acquire ownership of participant content merely because it is submitted through the platform.
8.11 Severability
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
If an unenforceable provision can lawfully be narrowed rather than eliminated, it will be interpreted only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable.
9. Platform Operations
9.1 Competition Availability
Treasure Kracken competitions are hosted through the Treasure Kracken digital platform.
Competition start times and important scheduling information will be announced through official Treasure Kracken channels.
9.2 Technical Problems During a Competition
If a material technical issue affects the fairness, availability, security, or integrity of a competition, Treasure Kracken may temporarily pause or suspend the affected portion of the competition.
Treasure Kracken may:

• Investigate server and security records

• Correct a technical problem

• Restore affected competition access

• Adjust or disregard corrupted submission records when reasonably necessary

• Resume the competition

• Conduct a skill-based tiebreaker when submission order cannot reliably be determined

• Postpone an affected competition stage

Any action taken in response to a technical problem will be intended to preserve fair competition and will not use random selection to determine the winner.
9.3 Cancellation or Suspension
Treasure Kracken may postpone, suspend, or cancel a competition when events outside its reasonable control make fair or lawful administration impracticable, including:

• Serious technical failure

• Security compromise

• Fraud affecting competition integrity

• Legal or regulatory requirements

• Natural disasters

• Widespread infrastructure outages

• Other comparable circumstances that materially compromise the competition

Treasure Kracken will not cancel an active competition merely because participation is lower than anticipated.
If a competition is interrupted after it begins, Treasure Kracken will use reasonable efforts to resume it or determine the result using reliable competition records when doing so can be accomplished fairly.
9.4 Account Management
Treasure Kracken may suspend or restrict an account when reasonably necessary to:

• Investigate suspected rule violations

• Protect platform security

• Prevent fraud

• Enforce these Terms

Account suspension by itself does not automatically establish that a participant violated the competition rules.
Prize eligibility may be forfeited when a participant is ultimately determined to have violated a rule that warrants disqualification.
9.5 Official Communications
Official competition information may be communicated through:

• Email communications from Treasure Kracken

• Competition pages

• Officially identified announcements or updates

Treasure Kracken may also maintain community channels, including Discord.
Unless expressly identified as an official rule, clue, or clarification, casual conversation in a community channel does not modify these Official Rules.
If communications conflict, the current Official Rules and official competition notices published on treasurekracken.com control.
10. Privacy and Personal Information
10.1 Information Collected
Treasure Kracken may collect information reasonably necessary to operate the platform and administer competitions, including:

• Account information

• Contact information

• Competition progress

• Submission records

• Security and technical logs

• Winner verification information

• Information necessary for prize payment and legally required tax reporting

10.2 Use of Information
Personal information may be used for purposes including:

• Creating and maintaining user accounts

• Operating competitions

• Recording and verifying submissions

• Preventing fraud and abuse

• Protecting platform security

• Communicating important competition information

• Verifying winners

• Delivering prizes

• Satisfying legal and tax obligations

10.3 Service Providers
Treasure Kracken may use third-party service providers to operate portions of the website and related services.
Information may be processed by service providers when reasonably necessary to provide functions such as:

• Account management

• Email delivery

• Analytics

• Security

• Payment or prize delivery

• Identity or winner verification

10.4 Data Security
Treasure Kracken will take reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the information it maintains to protect personal information against unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure.
No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10.5 Data Requests
Users may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information where required or permitted by applicable law.
Certain information may be retained when reasonably necessary for:

• Recordkeeping

• Tax obligations

• Dispute resolution

• Compliance with applicable law

11. Rule Changes and Competition Modifications
11.1 Rules Before a Competition Begins
Treasure Kracken may modify competition rules before the competition begins.
Material changes made before the start of a competition will be communicated through the Treasure Kracken platform.
Participants should review the current Official Rules before the announced competition start.
11.2 Rules After a Competition Begins
Once a competition begins, Treasure Kracken will not materially change:

• The advertised prize

• The basic method of determining the winner

• The no-purchase requirement

• Participant eligibility requirements in a manner designed to favor or disadvantage a particular participant

• The fundamental competition structure

Treasure Kracken may issue non-material clarifications, correct obvious errors, or make changes reasonably necessary to address:

• Legal requirements

• Fraud

• Security problems

• Technical failures

• Circumstances materially threatening competition integrity

Any material change during an active competition will be communicated to participants as promptly as reasonably possible.
11.3 Future Competitions
Treasure Kracken may use different rules, prizes, formats, eligibility requirements, or competition structures for future competitions.
Changes applicable to a future competition do not retroactively alter the rules governing a competition that has already begun.

13. Acceptance of Official Rules
By registering for or participating in a Treasure Kracken competition, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions / Official Competition Rules.
You acknowledge that:

• Entry is free

• No purchase or payment is required to participate or win

• The advertised prize for the current competition is $1,000.00 USD

• Winner determination is based on skill and verified submission order

• You must be at least 18 years old to participate

• You must comply with these Official Rules to remain eligible

• Participation is void where prohibited or restricted by applicable law

These Official Rules constitute the rules governing the current Treasure Kracken competition together with any competition-specific instructions expressly incorporated into them.
